The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association & Foundation proudly presents its 44th Annual Scholarship & Installation Gala, remembering the 150th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1875.
The Civil Rights Act of 1875 aimed to grant Black Americans, mainly freed slaves, equal access to public accommodations. The Supreme Court struck it down in the Civil Rights Cases of 1883, allowing racial discrimination to persist until the Civil Rights Act of 1964 finally restored those rights.
Join us at the FIU Kovens Conference Center in North Miami as we honor the past and invest in the future.
