With the passage of HB 1, many in the state of Florida are wondering where our rights to engage in peaceful protests without running afoul of these newly created laws by the state legislator and the Governor. It is a truly sad state of affairs when the laws were created and passed without a logical rationale and with utter contempt for the consequences placed on those who choose to exercise their rights to free speech and peaceful gatherings. In light of this blatant abuse of authority and power, the WDFJBA has put together a program with several community partners with the intent to provide guidance on the right to protest. The program is entitled How Do We Mobilize? Understanding Your Right To Protest. It is scheduled for May 21, 2021, 12 noon to 1:30 pm.  Please join us for this in-depth discussion with prominent attorneys, activists within the legal community and law enforcement advocates in the South Florida community as we address the current status of the right to peaceful protest in the state of Florida.
