2025 GALA AWARDS NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN!

The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Foundation and Associations are proud to announce that nominations are open for the following awards at this year's gala! 

Richard E.S. Toomey Legal Legacy Award

•       The Richard E.S. Toomey Legal Legacy Award celebrates outstanding legal achievement and a profound dedication to serving the State of Florida, and the Black community of Miami especially, reflecting Toomey’s own commitment to both professional excellence and community upliftment.

The Corporate Citizen Award

•       This Corporate Citizen Award honors a corporate entity that has actively engaged with the Miami’s Black community, fostering economic opportunity, promoting social justice, contributing to the overall well-being of our residents, and supporting diversity and inclusion in our society.

 The Community Service Champion Award 

• The Community Service Champion honors an individual or organization that has demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to within the Miami-Dade community or State of Florida.

The Rising Star Award 

•         The Rising Star Award recognizes a young lawyer who has exemplified excellent legal reputation and skill as well as dedication to the community. The award is given only to current, active members of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association. This award is given to a Young Lawyer (i.e., who is 36 years of age or younger or has been barred by The Florida Bar for less than 5 years as of the date of the Gala) who also is a member of Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr., Bar Association. 

The nomination DEADLINE  is  April 24, 2025.

Nominations may be in letter form and must be no more than 600 words. Wilkie D. members may send nominations to us at info@wdfjba.org! Nominees do not have to be Wilkie D. members, except for the Rising Star Award Nominees.
